DESCRIPTION: $25 SHIPPING CHARGE ADDED TO DOMESTIC INVOICES FOR THIS LOT. Clock - Unsigned French carriage clock with push button hour repeat and striking on a single bell for every hour and half hour, circa 1875, gilded brass gorge case with a sound fretted base panel, measures 10"h (to top of upright handle) x 5.25"w x 4.25"d, white enamel dial within finely engraved plate, KWKS, two-train large right angle lever escapement with two arm compensating balance viewed through an oval glass aperture, 11J, gilt mvt, s#4112. Comes with a key that only fits for hand setting.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, ticks for a few seconds after a good twist and then stops, good repeat function and tone, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some darker haze to perimeter of mvt plate, scattered fine scratches to back plate, very minor oxide to steelwork; visible portion of dial appears flawless; fine-plus hands; case shows very little wear, no dents or dings, some areas of finish loss around corners and edges; good beveled glass panels.
